At GTG, it’s always been important to us to provide our customers with a smooth booking process with as few steps as possible. Because of this, we’ve been quite reluctant to implement a deposits system because we know this is important to you.
As we have only a handful of tables, nearly all cancellations made within 24 hours of the booking do seriously affect us. This is especially true for larger groups, where we are less likely to be able to re-fill a table to capacity. For me personally, this is a pretty stressful experience and not something we can easily mitigate or control without taking a deposit.
Starting this week, we will require a deposit for larger group bookings based on the number of hours you plan to stay at our café. Here’s how it works:
- Deposit rate is £5 per hour (for groups of 5+ people).
- Group bookings for 4 or less people will not have to pay a deposit.
- The deposit is non-refundable, but will be taken off of your final bill.
- If you need to change your booking, please request the change at least 24 hours before your scheduled visit.
We understand that plans can change, and we’re happy to accommodate those changes as long as we receive sufficient notice.
